UCA SJRC: Coffee Producer in Nicaragua
Uni贸n de Cooperativas Agropecuarias de San Juan del R铆o Coco R. L. (UCA) is a local coffee producer unifying eight co-operatives in the region of Madriz, spanning five communities.
The co-operative takes its name from the longest river in Nicaragua, Rio Coco, which channels through the region and has remained an essential source of survival for agrarian communities for generations.
Founded in 1993, UCA supports 480 farmers with a stable income through credit services, technical assistance, training and marketing of Fairtrade, Organic and Rainforest Alliance certified Arabica coffee.
小猪视频 and UCA SJRC
UCA became a 小猪视频 customer in 2008, when we provided finance to help the co-operative secure coffee contracts. Since then, we have increased our support to facilitate the co-operative鈥檚 growth and an upward trend in global coffee prices.
Jason told us:
"The handling of their coffee mill and the processing in the volumes they handle is something to be admired. In addition, seeing how young people have grown within the organisation over the years motivates us to continue to support them."
